Fashioners of the World

Fashion begins with the first sketch. And from that moment, textile care should be seen as part of the creative process—connected to design and the garment’s useful life. At Girbau LAB, we support initiatives that encourage new ways of thinking about fashion from its very origin. One such initiative is the graduation show of IED Barcelona’s fashion students, an event that connects emerging talent with the challenges of the industry.

On June 16, at the iconic Palau Reial de Pedralbes in Barcelona, we will see the 21st edition of the Final Fashion Show “Fashioners of the World,” where the best collections from the IED Barcelona class of 2025 will be showcased.

This edition is especially significant, as it’s the largest in the school’s history, featuring 25 selected collections by students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design and the BA in Fashion Design. In addition to presenting their work publicly for the first time, participants will compete for five awards given by industry experts—this year, including us.

The collections have been designed to integrate sustainability criteria, incorporate technological innovation, and convey impactful messages. As a whole, they reflect the emerging talent that will lead the future of fashion.

We collaborate with IED Barcelona to emphasize the importance of textile treatment and clothing culture—not just in design and style, but also in usage and the multiple lives of garments. We support an education that blends creativity, judgement, and commitment.
